Upwork, Fiverr and Guru are generalist freelance marketplaces. They cover many kinds of work, from writing and design to software, and AI is one category among many. BotPool is a freelance marketplace built only for AI services.
Neither model is right for every project. This page sets out how they differ, so you can pick the one that fits the work you need done.
| BotPool | Generalist marketplaces (Upwork, Fiverr, Guru) | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | AI services only: development, automation, chatbots, data, AI content, design and consulting | Many categories of freelance work, with AI as one of them |
| Who can list services | Freelancers who specialize in AI services | Each platform sets its own seller requirements; check their current policies |
| Ways to hire | Post a job and receive proposals, or buy a service package directly from a profile | Job posts, proposals and packaged services, in different mixes per platform |
| Engagement types | Fixed-price service packages and hourly work | Varies by platform |
| Payment protection | Payment held in escrow and released when you confirm you are satisfied, with dispute resolution support | Each platform has its own payment protection terms |
| If you do not want to manage it yourself | BotPool One, a fully managed service with a dedicated manager | Check whether the platform offers a managed option for your project |
Start from the project, not the platform. Three questions settle most decisions.
If the core of the job is a model, an agent, an automation or a chatbot, a marketplace built only for AI work narrows the field to people who offer it. If AI is a small part of a broader job, a generalist platform may have the wider mix of skills.
On any marketplace you should still read profiles, portfolios and past client ratings, and message a freelancer before committing on larger work. A focused marketplace narrows the list you start from; it does not replace that step.
Hiring a freelancer means you own the scope and the day-to-day. If you would rather describe the outcome and have a team delivered and managed for you, look at a managed service such as BotPool One.
It depends on the project. BotPool is built only for AI services and vets every freelancer for AI expertise before they can list services, which suits work that is mainly AI. Generalist platforms cover far more categories, which suits projects where AI is one small part.
Yes. You can post a project brief and receive proposals from AI experts, or browse freelancer profiles and buy a pre-set service package. Both fixed-price packages and hourly work are supported.
Review their profile, portfolio, listed tools and past client ratings, and message them before committing on larger work.
Payments are processed through Stripe and held in escrow until you confirm you are satisfied with the delivery. If a delivery does not meet the agreed requirements you can request revisions, and dispute resolution support is available.
The same trade-off applies. A generalist platform gives you a broad pool across many skills, and a specialist one gives you a pool focused on a single field. Check each platform's current policies on vetting, fees and payment protection before you commit.
BotPool One is a fully managed service, separate from the marketplace. You describe the outcome, a dedicated manager scopes it, and BotPool assembles the team and delivers the solution.
Post your project to receive proposals from AI freelancers, or browse profiles and hire directly.
